Population Monte Carlo Working Group - Subgroups composition, April 28th 2009

The following describes the subgroups of interest. This is a first draft based on the emails received so far.
Each subgroup should ideally comprise between two and four researchers.
Two peculiar status: (L) Lead, (F) Follow without immediate direct involvement.
For any question, modification, interest, please contact directly Julien Cornebise, with CC to the subgroup leader you are interested in (if any).
We will:

  1. Have a first meeting in the very next few days (please email your availabilities to Julien) to start all the subgroups,
  2. then proceed with an inter-subgroups status update and ideas exchanges via webex every two weeks.

Aim: give birth to several preprints by the end of September 2009 (i.e. before SAMSI's SMC Transition, end of the official program).

Subgroups needing more researchers:

The following subgroups would welcome one or more additional researchers. Please feel free to express any interest !

  1. Theoretical review: Anand (L), Jan, Giovanni (F)
  2. Applications to population genetics: Bob (Griffiths) (L), David (Dunson), Aude (Grelaud), Paul (F), Sourish (F)
  3. Model selection and transdimensional inference: Jan (L), Giovanni (L), David (Dunson), Cajo (F), Sourifh (F)

Subgroups already complete:

The following subgroups have already completed their team, at least for the planned scope of their activity. However, any follower is welcome to join, and it is most likely that they will evolve according to their findings, interests, and needs, as their work evolves.

  1. Adaptive SMC: Julien (L), Arnaud, Mark (F), Paul (F)
  2. Massive dataset: Artin (L), Ioanna, Julien
  3. ABC: Julien (L), Oliver, Julien, Gareth (F), Mark (F), Paul (F)
