From: Alan F. Karr [karr@niss.org] Sent: Thursday, September 29, 2005 11:02 AM To: undisclosed-recipients: Subject: Working Group Plans SAMSI NDHS-DC Working Group Participants, The overall initial plan agreed to last week is to pursue two topics in the working group. (Despite the clear overlap with NISS research on data confidentiality, the working group is broader in terms of both people and science.) The topics: - Looking in more detail at the CS literature on secure computation, if possible getting computer scientists involved. I will lead this. - Looking at utility for tabular and categorical data, led by Bahjat. (A reference tracked down by Bahjat is attached.) I will not be able to attend the meetings either tomorrow or next Friday (10/7). Jerry Reiter has kindly agreed to be "in charge." The plan: 9/30: Anna reviews her work on microdata, possibly with additional discussion by Mi-Ja on propensity scores and related ideas. 10/7: Jerry reviews synthetic data methods. There WILL NOT be "phone-in" component of either of these meetings. The next teleconference meeting is on Friday 10/14. --- Alan -- ****************************************************************** * Alan F.
