Highlights: Jim Clark suggested that soil moisture could be used as a bridge between GCMs and ecological models. The latter have a runtime measured in days, so Susie Bayarri discussed using an GASP emulator instead. This raised the issue of dimensionality and how to reduce it, using PCA for example. |

to relate soil moisture to topology, and how to take SM data on a
timescale of minutes and upscale it to the simulator's 1-year
timestep. Jim Crooks talked about using matrix-variate GPs to
model stochastic simulator output, and Jim Clark suggested that this
method would be more useful for analyzing multiple species simulations. |
